ABOUT NEX-GEN PRO LEAGUE

FINDING INSPIRATION IN EVERY TURN

David Thompson

Founder and CEO

Nex-Gen Pro League was founded by David Thompson, a professional basketball player with over 15 years of experience competing at the highest levels. Driven by his passion for mentoring the next generation, David created Nex-Gen as a platform to provide elite training, leadership development, and opportunities for athletes of all ages to grow on and off the court.

As the founder of the “Don’t Forget to Play” brand, David champions the belief that basketball is more than just a sport — it’s a tool to inspire, build community, and teach life skills that last far beyond the game. For David, “Don’t Forget to Play” is also a reminder that even when life gets hard, holding onto your passion and love for the game fuels resilience, joy, and purpose. This philosophy drives everything we do: preparing athletes for excellence while reminding them to always stay connected to why they play.

"We want to build a community that inspires a culture of paying it forward"

OUR MISSION.

Basketball is the game — community is the legacy.

At Nex-Gen, we’re committed to developing not just elite athletes, but leaders and role models who impact their communities. Through competition, mentorship, and our “Don’t Forget to Play” model, we inspire growth, resilience, and joy in the game. More than a league, we’re a movement where passion meets purpose
